Hello,

The description of plugins are often very limited. Now the Store offers 3 Maps plugins:

Maps Pro, 16$

Google Maps Location, 15$

Member Locations, 10$

Does anybody have a comparison and experiences? Which of these plugins can you recommend and why?

Thank you for your help and advice.

Martin

Hi Martin,

Maps Pro : Members can add self Markers (POI) with images and description on the map. Map support for some other plugins...Works like Google Maps for Business where you can put an address of your Business or Home Address to be found works with Shop Pro if you sell something your address you put on SHops Pro will automatically show on Maps Pro.

Google Maps Location : This plugin allows users to add their location in profile details when joining or editing their profile, if you are from South Africa it will show as a Map on user profiles pages as Google Maps.

Member Locations : Members can add/edit/view their own locations. Has Global Users location map. For auto-tracking new users, IpInfoDB free API Key needed. This works more like Check - In similar to Foursquare. When a new user joins it will automatically detect their location and checks them in where they 1st joined your site. Members can also check themselves manually.( Hope this will be available in the new mobile version to work like foursquare )

Hope this helps :)

Thank you for the update. Looks like Google Maps Location is the most basic one (just user profile).

Probably most interesting (for user profile) will be Member Locations.

Thanks again.

I still hav eone more question (which the developper didn't answer yet)...

In Google Maps Location, can the user place / move the pin himself ? It is o little use to me if the pin is fixed somewhere in the city center as Google thinks it right... The user needs to have the possibility to move/place the pin more accurately on the map.

Can anybody who actually has this plugin tell me if this is possible?

THANK YOU !!!
