Umm, if the dates aren't checked, there is still no reason for the reset **after** all the updates.

You can but unless you need to add on/Change the keywords content, meta names etc then no real need.

Ok, let me restate my question flat out: why would my icons be replaced, without there being an update done?

Right..... well, a theme was updated, but it
was not THE theme. Also, it was after the update that it reverted. I
tried fixing it twice.
So like you said you DID do an update, and along w/This platform update that your icons reverted back to default, anytime you perform a platform update it will also update the Origin theme right along with it...
