Ways to have users upload videos?? | Forum

Sorry if this has been posted before but is there a way to have users upload personal videos from their computer to my web page? Like facebook allows? I saw one plugin but it sounds like it doesn't really work anymore or never did. I don't want users to have to upload the video to youtube and then add the link to my web page in order to see it. Just want a straight upload video button?? Thanks!

Thanks for your response Durlabh but yeah that was the plugin I was discussing that doesn't really work and a lot of its users hated it. Do you happen to know of any other plugins or a way to code it in? I put the html code to upload a file and it lets me browse my computer and pick the file but then when I hit upload file, it errors and uploads a cant connect to network web page so obviously its not working or I am doing something wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again

Well Nick, Oxwall has not released a compatible plugin for video uploading yet but it is in oxwall roadmap that means you need to completely rely on 3rd party developer. I searched the entire oxwall store but I didn't find any plugin that will 100% satisfactory, but you can check this plugin: http://www.oxwall.org/store/item/647

You just cannot make your own plugin just by using html codes, you need to be skilled in php.etc.My suggestion would be that to ask support from support companies here at: http://www.oxwall.org/services  , to make you a video upload plugin.

OR

Hire a programmer from here:

Regards.

So you can add a video file but you just cant view it? Others can download it but you have no idea what the file contains except for the description? I wanted something like Facebook where you can upload a video from your phone/computer to the site and be viewed by members, this isn't it then huh?

Hi Leah Looman,

As I stated above you can try to find a good video plugin from the store and if you are unsure about its performance then it would be good it you ask its developer about a demo of it.

I am looking for it to also be more like facebook and not a file that people download. I am running an adult content site and would prefer the video to be on site and something I can require membership to view.
