No thumbnails for videos[Solved] | Forum

Hi,

I have noticed that videos uploaded are not showing a thumbnail on the newsfeed using the Oxwall video plugin. The video plays fine, but there is no thumbnail.

This was tested using a video that was uploaded to Metacafe.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I believe that is a default thumbnail your seeing. You might have a look here and i will see if i can find something else for you

dont click on that link on that post i dont think it is safe for work or eyes...

also check to see if you have proper file permissions as it may use the default thumb if it cant read the thumb from the file.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your help as always. I worked out what the issue was. My site runs on HTTPS and the embed code from Metacafe is only HTTP. This was causing issues.

I did a test with a Youtube embed (which you know is HTTPS) and the thumb and video are all fine.
