Language pack vs website translator | Forum

I am wondering what the advantages would be to put in all the effort to create new language pack while one could use a widget from one of the big developers which translates not only the interface, but also the content.

Would it not make more sense to have one of the gurus create a (free) plugin for these?

GOOGLE

The Google one is more configurable but when pasting the widget code into admin > settings > page > Custom head code, the browser falls over

BING

The Bing one's widget code has a <div> tag which suggests that one paste the <script> portion into admin > settings > page > Custom head code and the <div> into admin > settings > page > Custom tail code, but this doesn't work.

I did not check others, but it seems much less effort to develop in the direction of incorporating existing free widgets rather than trying to re-invent the wheel every time a new language is needed (and even then this is only a partial translation, content stays....)

Hi Chris it will not work take Afrikaans for instance, it is a very complicated Language to translate, although google translate is doing well with Afrikaans now but it still has a problem with translating a website.
