I'm having trouble changing the banner for specific pages, like the Event banner for example. Even when Oxwall registers it as changed in theme customization, it hasn't changed at all when I go to check.
How would I fix this issue?

Also, I'm not seeing the Dark Community theme in the dropdown at all, so I'm unable to edit the language.

I made doubly sure that the image was the proper format. I cleared the browser cache, and attempted to do this in two browsers. And the readme file was the first thing I read.
- By the way, you haven't specified the best dimensions for the images. What are they?
