Change Menu Label | Forum

When I want to change the label of a menu from a plugin I get this message:

Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: Argument 1 passed to OW_ErrorManager::exceptionHandler() must be an instance of Exception, instance of Error given in C:\Ampps\www\ox15\ow_core\error_manager.php:235 Stack trace: #0 [internal function]: OW_ErrorManager->exceptionHandler(Object(Error)) #1 {main} thrown in C:\Ampps\www\ox15\ow_core\error_manager.php on line 235

The visibility of the menu is changed however but not the label.

When I do that on the core pages there is no error message.

Thanks for your help

How are you changing the label? Do you just want to change what it says in the menu, say from 'Photo' to 'Pictures'?

If that is what you want to do you can do it in your-domain.com/admin/pages.

Yes, I do this in the admin pages when I try toedit the Menu. I can change positionning, change who see the menu but not the label for pluggins.

So let me make sure I have this right.  In your-domain.com/admin/pages. you put your cursor over the menu item you want to change, when the little 'Edit' flag appears, you click on it, edit the name and click 'Save'?

Thank you Chris for your help.

Yes this is what I do: I press Edit and then try to change the label for the plugin: for example the plugin signin which label is indexlogin+sign_in just to login.

I have tried to give all permissions on all sub folder, but this didn't changed anything (i am under windows 10 for the development)

The error does not help t come back to the previous problem.

What is strange is that the error does not affect who view the menu (this must be in the database, and I thought the label too!)

indexlogin+sign_in sounds like the language file problem. try going to /admin/settings/languages and just clicking 'Save' to refresh the file and see if that helps.

Yes your are right. Since my website is in french the translation is not available and I guess that I have first to privde a translation before I can change it. I thought I tried this, I will try again.

However in english it is fine

I don't understand where to create it: when I search in the translation page, nothing is shown, or ordre the signin section hundrede of terms.
