Origins and Legends
The exact origin of luosifen remains uncertain, but three legends attempt to explain its creation:

First Legend: In the 1980s, starving tourists stumbled upon a closed rice noodle restaurant in Liuzhou. The owner improvised by serving rice noodles in snail soup, along with vegetables, peanuts, and bean curd sticks. This led to the development of snail noodle soup.
Second Legend: A clerk at a dry cut noodles store decided to boil rice noodles with snails for breakfast. The dish gained popularity and evolved into authentic Liuzhou snail noodle soup.
Third Legend: During the late 1970s and early 1980s, local trade in Liuzhou slowly recovered from the Cultural Revolution. The folk version of snail noodle soup emerged during this time.
Flavorful Ingredients
Luosifen’s distinct flavor comes from pickled bamboo, dried turnips, fresh vegetables, and peanuts. The spicy broth, infused with river snails, completes this aromatic dish.

Whether you’re a fan of its pungent smell or intrigued by its uniqueness, luosifen continues to captivate food enthusiasts worldwide.
