Every time I try to install it it gives the whole site an error and it can not even be used at all.

I think you're being humble by calling this a "simple" plugin. Sign up as a publisher with any of the advertising websites and it's pretty much impossible not to make enough money with this plugin to pay for webhosting.

I've come back and now I give 5 stars. This plugin is theme-dependent. Requires the sidebar theme. It also works on a theme without the sidebar, but ...with a "trick".
