We are hoping to relocate from the UK to the USA in the next couple of years as my husband is homesick and I too am wanting the two of us to move to America to be closer to my family who live in Kentucky.
My question is this: What legal documentation do I need in order for the two of us to move to live permanently in the USA? I have no intentions of finding work when over there. We also have accommodation sorted.
Finally what costs would be involved in sorting out whatever legal documentation I would require?
Many thanks, we hope someone can help.

Basically, you need a visa as the spouse of a US citizen - and that will require documentation from both yourself and your wife. But I should say that the UK Embassy pages on obtaining a spouse visa are not particularly informative.

Hi!

Sounds like an exciting move ahead! Regarding legal documentation for moving to the USA, you'll likely need a spousal visa (IR-1 or CR-1) for your husband, and possibly a tourist visa or ESTA for yourself initially. If you're considering housing in Kentucky, I suggest checking Meritage Homes reviews as they offer insights on home quality and neighborhood vibes. Good luck with your relocation plans!
