There is no message saying they should fill in the form correctly or anything. It was working earlier today, and I've not changed anything that I think would cause this error.
Is there any kind of error log I can look at?

When people are trying to register they fill out the join page, there are no errors, but when they click join the page refreshes and their information is lost.

Sean, enable DEBUG mode in config.php and try to register, any errors?

I'm getting this type of error too, I have set the debug mode and no errors came up when trying to register, I have refreshed the cookies by setting dev mode and hitting F5 multiple times as suggested in another post but with no effect. I have also disabled Facebook connect and paid membership plugins.
Any ideas on resolving this?

OK, I have checked several things and it appears to be in issue with the cookies stored locally in your browser, if you enable 'private browsing' mode it works fine.
Will keep posted if I discover anything else!
