Anyone having issues with mass email salutations

I have never been able to get my salutations to work using Hello {user_name} and one of the instructions say to use {$user_name} the other one on my message all plugin says use {user_name}

Is there a standard for vars, is the standard with the $ or without?

Solved! i have just confirmed it is in fact {$user_name} so for those of you that do have mail plugins, change your lang file so that the var you can use shows on your plugin correctly with the $.

well for some reason on mass email these have stopped working

{$user_name}
{$user_email}
{$site_name}
{$site_url}
{$site_email}

I also tried them without the $ and nothing...

My mass emailing has been sending everyone about 20 copies. The hosting support wants to blame Oxwall.

Sorry Aliia i wanted to be sure it was a bug first, i guess i should have just posted it there to start with. Have you been able to duplicate those variables not working on your side Aliia?
