Direct and reverse buckets | Forum

Hey guys, I’m trying to figure out the best kind of bucket for a new project—specifically for digging and heavy material handling. I’ve heard about direct and reverse buckets, but I’m not totally sure how they compare in real-world use. Does one work better for certain tasks, or is it all just about personal preference? I’d love to hear from someone with hands-on experience!

It really depends on what you’re working on. I’ve used both types, and each has its sweet spot. For digging in compact soil, I’ve found direct buckets to be a beast, especially with their solid grip. Reverse buckets, though, are super handy when you’re scooping and dumping in tighter spaces—they give you way more control. When I was shopping for equipment, I made sure to look at SDLG https://www.sdlg-eu.com/  lineup. They’re a well-known manufacturer of construction and road machinery in China and have a great rep for designing equipment that’s both versatile and durable.
