Hi,

I want to run my site. But for now I have to use shared servers, because I do not have enough money to Dedicted. Can you tell which is the best hosting for oxwall?
Website should have about 2,000 active users and it takes about a 500GB hard drive.Website is not commercially, but requires quite a lot of monthly bandwith for the intended students. It will offer them the option of sharing files and it would require a little more bandwith and disk space.
I'm thinking that I use:- hostgator bp- bluehost or- Arvixe
What do you think?

Thank you!

I use Hypernia or StableBox/ (same company) that with a little extra cost you can get a dedicated ip, as low as $30 per year depending on your requirements

Hi,

hostgator says:

Hello,

Unfortunately, the requirements needed for the Oxwall software are not compatible with our shared Linux or Windows hosting plans. However our dedicated servers could certainly be modified to match the system requirements listed for the software. For your reference, Oxwall requirements are listed on their website here on the right hand side: http://www.oxwall.org/hosting

If you purchase a dedicated server with us, we can provide fully managed support to ensure Oxwall requirements are met. A dedicated server for your website is advised not only for the software requirement but for your userbase as well. Oxwall supports both Windows and Linux platforms. You can explore our dedicated server options and pricing for both operating systems here:

http://www.hostgator.com/windows-dedicated-servers

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you for choosing HostGator!

Warm regards. "

StableBox, dedicted not $30/y - is from $75/m to $250/m :)

HostGator dedicted is better.

I use Arvixe hosting, their support is outstanding. their price is affordable, and the speed is decent. i don't have 2000 members but their servers are fully optimized to handle Oxwall and they don't try over sell or up sell you stuff you wont need. id have a chat with them about hosting give them your requirements and they can point you in the right direction.

Im very pleased with their service, just do a google search for there reviews, they have won a few awards as well so they must be doing something right.

Does anyone use TMDhosting or HostBig?

They offer very good prices, but I do not know if they are good enough. If anyone has experience with them, let him share with us.

thank you

I would vote against Arvixe.  I've always, always had perfect service from them up until the last 3 months.  Suddenly, no one is ever around to answer online chat questions from support (or sales) and I've sent in 3 different support tickets and gotten ZERO response.

Too bad, they really were the best.

@Eric each to their own i guess, Though i have to disagree with you, i've not had any probs - support is there 24 / 7 and solve issues in minutes. either way go with what ever hosting company makes you happy, me personally arvixe is one of the best, and their support is good. but im not here to make you join them or any other host. just giving my opinion.

Id suggest using their live chat even if you sent in a support ticket / tickets. or calling their phone number ( if in the U.S) - i find it hard to believe you sent in 3 tickets with no reply, did you use Live chat or call them. Surely someone was there they have 24 / 7 live chat - i had an issue just today and someone helped me with no problem only had to wait 1 minute.

shame you are having problems with them. maybe you could tell us all who you went with then seeing as you think Arvixe is no good, more options the better when it comes to hosting.

I was with arvixe and I think I've said it before I found their support wanting.... I went to hostgator after arvixe and found them outstanding, I'm now with Togglebox Cloud Hosting, their plans are fully customizable to suit what you need and at a reasonable price.

Love StableBox looks like for small business only. Be careful to move any hosting company after you did some reviews.
