Just trying to understand why the pages are different when you load http://example.com/ and http://www.example.com/index
Why are they not the same and how can I change what is seen on /index ?

The index is the general activity stream of oxwall powered site. To change the default page to open when someone visit yoursite.com, kindly go to yoursite.com/admin/pages/manage and drag the menu item to the first place
