Hi there,

I would like to give you a little update on my iOS project. I hope you find this project interesting and would like to contribute. Either by contributing to the development of the code or by donating some $$$. ;-) Anyway, all comments, feedback and suggestions are welcome.

When the app is stable and ready for production - yes. You can do that. That's the whole point of this project. To make it available to everyone using Oxwall.

Thanks, this looks great! For sites that don't allow send/read of message by default, would this obey those permissions?

Not at the moment. I will add that to my todo-list.

This looks great, something i have been waiting for and i suspect alot of members have been waiting for, for a long time.

I have to ask though are you planning on an Android version of this and windows 7 version?

I would buy this in a heart beat but don't forget that oxwall are working on developing a mobile version too.

@Shaun. I only develop for iOS but I guess that somebody can pick up the ball and develop a android/windows 7 version once we got all the relevant webservices ready and documented.

As to the Oxwall mobile plattform. I do not know what kind of solution they will present but I suspect that there will be no native apps for mobile devices, rather a fully responsive mobile theme. But we'll have to wait for the long awaited 1.6 release.

Anybody know what's the new features at oxwall 1.6?

Some comments about mobile applications and Oxwall 1.6.

I do not know what strategy the team behind Oxwall have for the future of the platform in terms of mobile devices, but I do not think we will see that there will be native applications for iOS, Android and Windows platform there that nobody uses.

That does not mean there will not be a very good support for mobile devices in the next release of Oxwall. As most people know, there are an incredible number of opportunities to create a great user experience with HTML5, CSS, and the countless javascript framework available on the market.

I see my little addition to Oxwall, in the form of Oxwall Messenger for iOS, as a way to improve the functionality of my own site and let my users get more opportunities to be able to reach each other. That's what social networking is all about, right?

For those interested, I attach a link that explains Native Apps vs. Responsive Web Applications - with pros and cons.

Stay cool,

Thomas
Thomas Oct 3 '13
@Alexandr Not to my knowledge. We are focusing on iOS in this project. If there's somebody that want to use our webservice solution to make an android app that would be great.

I have just successfully submitted my IOS APP based on Oxwall to Apple and it has been approved. I have coded it using Xcode. All you need to do is use a responsive theme or the built in mobile view and use UIWebView in xcode to build your app for IOS devices.

I dont think using webview is a good solution. You should try native android/ios app built from scratch at Oxwall Store: http://www.oxwall.org/store/item/939 ;
