Any thought how I can adjust that? I'm guessing some CSS but I can't seem to find the one that will adjust who's in front of who...

Hi,
Unfortunately we have no idea which custom theme you use.
A standard avatar is used in this plugin and it looks fine on all standard themes, so I guess it is a theme related issue. Could you contact the theme developer and ask them what might be the reason of this issue?
