two different ones  one was a parse erro and this was the error we had to do a  back and that still messed things up as well as e have plugins sitting on the panel to update but to scared to ht updat because they go to errors as does un installing need some to take a look and see why and we already had our server look on their end when they did the back up and its not them thats the issue

I'm having some server anomalies at the moment; could possibly just be that.

Amber, your issue looks like a problem with your mysql connection. The most common reason for the MySQL server has gone away error is that the server timed out and closed the connection. Check with your provider again as it seem they're filling your ears with fluff. But that problem could have also caused a plugin to only get partially installed/uninstalled... leaving you with some problems...

Check with the plugin developers' who plugin failed to install/uninstall... or remove them manually:

+ to fbkca's replies.

Thanks for helping.
All possible reasons of your SQL error are listed here:

Amber, which plugins did you try to update when you got the error?
Are you using cloud storages?
Are you on shared hosting?
May be you are using hostgator as your host?
