Hello,

As you advice on you page, the "powered oxwall" logo has not to be removed. Nevertheless, other Oxwall based platforms like Skadate makes no reference to Oxwall. Additionaly they propose a branding removal service.

what is your position about it?

Thanks,

Urban

UrbAn, I don't know where you get the idea, that Skadate has no reference to Oxwall. It's clearly stated on their website, here: http://lite.skadate.com/opensource . As to the branding removal service. Oxwall Foundation and Skalfa team concluded a commercial agreement, based on which, Skadate can sell the product as their own, including branding removal service.

Elsewhere on the site there is a more recent blog post which states the link can be removed under very strict conditions. It seems that Oxwall doesn't want to make a big deal of it, but it can be done:

"We are receiving dozens of requests for removal every day. To create a legal way for removal (but to still keep the license policy meaningful and working), we decided to allow it as an optional perk for donating funds to the project. Please note, that we do not intend to “productize”, encourage, and mass-scale selling link removals, because we still think it’s bad for the community and useless for the site owner. "

The above was written in 2013 compared to the link Urb An refers to which was written in 2011.

I understand and fully agree with Oxwall's argument. It's a free script and they're entitled to have a link back to the Oxwall site.

Sorry for my expression, I was not clear: when I said that Skadate is not making reference to Oxwall I meant the physical reference on a "powered by Skadate" page like the demo page, (you won't see anything about Oxwall)

I would like to begin a project with Oxwall basic tech or Skadate which includes some functionalities I really need. The problems are:

1-I would like to remove Oxwall logo (helping to the foundation if my project produces some income, only God will know it...)

2- Skadate allows "Branding removal" but I would prefer not to be dependant of a company for the support. I believe Oxwall will be the first to have the solution to eventual issues or upgrades, then SkadateLite, then my web. The question is more complicated if I would choose Skadate (full version) being completely different than Oxwall.

3- In the other hand, if I chose Oxwall I will need to develop all interesting functionalities that Skadate propose, which has a cost in money and time.

Can you help me to decide ?

Thanks in advance.

Urban

Mainly, the difference between Oxwall and Skadate Lite is that Oxwall is a community software while Skadate Lite is a dating set-up.

You can't find Skadate Lite features (plugins) in the Oxwall store, they are unique and were developed specifically for Skadate lite software.

Moreover, you can take advantage of the Oxwall forum, to resolve the issues, in case you run into any. On Lite you can resolve your issues for free for a limited time only (a month) then you will need to pay to get a support.

I recommend you to contact presales operators both of Skadate Lite and Master and ask questions you're interested in. As to the Oxwall you're free to download it and give it a try.

Thanks for your answer Ross, the point is to know if there could be some "dating" plugins to be developped specifically for Oxwall, maybe would be the best solution... because we could take advance of the community and remain more or less independent at the same time.

Would you know good developpers?

Unfortunately, I can't recommend any. You can search in the market: http://www.oxwall.org/market/specialists or among our community members.

Also you can make a suggestion to uservoice for features needed, if you get enough votes and our team will see an actual necessity of such plugin we'll consider the development in the future.
