Hi,

I have installed oxwall but I couldn't install any new theme or plugins because of FTP attributes.

My hosting supports only the SFTP not FTP.. Please guide us on it..

This a problem that vexes far too many of us. It works okay for me on one server, but not another.

The best thing to do is download and install Filezilla. Its free and solves all your problems.

https://filezilla-project.org/

Just download the Client.

Hopefully Oxwall's developers will one day spend a little time to find out why so many users can't FTP or continue to get 500 errors. My guess is that their server requirements are too demanding and maybe they don't need to be.

I need this too. What is the solution? I don't want filezilla. I want ACP updates using SFTP

If it makes a difference here i have an idea for this but i have to work with cpanel staff as well to get them to add something to their process.  I am not sure if it will happen or not but it might help on some of these issues, not sure but its an idea.

@savin

our software supports only FTP. If your host provides only sFTP, you will need to upload templates/plugins manually: https://wiki.oxwall.com/install:plugin#manual-upload .

For themes, you will need to upload/unpack .zip files in ow_themes directory and uploaded templates will appear under Admin panel >> Appearance >> Themes.

We suggest contacting your host to get them configure FTP, since if you won't have FTP you will have to perform updates manually as well.
