I believe I can update and my my test site has shown no current error, thankfully.
But I am wanting to confirm with the community that this should not be a problem.

I don't understand you don't have any problems with the updating, you just don't receive notifications within 48 hours? If so, please check your cron jobs are properly configured.

I'll get my host provider to check my cron jobs.
So there would be dependencies on the 1.5.3 core for this update? As far as you are aware.
