Video Uploader - Redesigned
Does anyone else have problems processing large video files of mp4 type ?

I installed the above plugin and am having problems ( processing ) Large Video (mp4) files.
My server has a high upload limit for files ( over 200mb )

I can actually upload large files ( Video mp4 ) with the uploader, though the uploader doesn't seem to process the large file ( 15 or 30 MB for example )

It attempts to process it, then stops after a while.

Anyone got / had the same problem ? And how did you fix it ? if at all.

Please, contact plugin developer directly to resolve the issue or just get an explanation.

Already done all that.
We don't know why it's happening.
My post was a last resort to find out what the problem is.

I personally don't know why I can't upload a large file, there doesn't seem to be a logical reason.

The only thing he mentioned is that my site maybe blocking http uploads and that is all he has mentioned.

The thing is, I can upload large files and they are present on my server.
The plugin itself does not seem to process the large file.

I have tried smaller files and they work fine.
using the same video converter I use for smaller files, I use for the larger files and it doesn't work.

They are all mp4 files and converted in the same way.

have you tryed just waiting and let the plugin finish
i have noticed that the upload progress bar tells lies
on large file when it says 100% its more like 40% actually done
and the plugin does not actually convert anything
if you upload a mp4 it stays a mp4, it does not utilize ffmpeg to convert to flv
it uses ffmpeg only to get thumb
so it should be called file uploader not video uploader as it does nothing a video uploader should do

I have waited for the plugin to finish.
Tried everything.
It uploads the file, then while processing for a while it times out.

its not the plugin thats converting, its my video program i use to convert files to mp4.

It simply times out from the process after uploading.

So not to worry, I suppose I just wont buy anymore plugins, due to unreliability.
Its a shame because the oxwall program itself, is good.

its a server problem not plugin   because as you said it works on small files look in whm and php time limits may be set to small if its set to say 5 minutes then the server cuts any php process that goes over that time

if you get stuck i can look in my whm and give you directions on where to set php limits

better still install javs into a folder on your server and it will tell you on installing it  if the server is set to take large uploads

no - I use the program to convert the file.
The I upload the converted file, using the uploader.

If you could show me where & how to change those php / whm files please, it might help.
Folder location, etc.

Thanks Tammy. :)

is not a folder

you have cpanel and whm panel whm is all server settings
if you do not have whm you will have to ask hosting to fix the php time limit

install javs    just another video script
and on install will tell you what the settings for your server are and what they should be set to for video uploading

  • ask your hosting to set these values

max_execution_time = 1000 (recommended to prevent timeouts during video upload/conversion)
  • session.gc_maxlifetime = 14000 (recommended to prevent session expires during video upload)
  • upload_max_filesize = 100M (recommended maximum video upload size in MB)
  • post_max_size = 100M (recommended maximum video upload size in MB)
