Is this caused by a missing plugin or what? I cannot figure it out.

Try removing the plugin and doing a fresh install, but before you do this clear your web browser catch and try again ,and also try with dif browser just to make sure if it is a web browser problem

Is this the work of the settings?

I did save a copy of the database, but I don't think that can change a thing. This is a plugin issue and the plugin has been updated. The database I saved has the old plugin

Are u suggesting that the old database should be imported?

But you see, Pete asked me to remove and reinstall. I lost all the news feed, and now it turns out that this feature was removed.
Someone even asked me to upload the database I saved prior to the update.

But even here in the forum, we can embed videos. What prompted OXWALL to remove it?

This feature is not removed, now you can just put URL and the video can be played directly on the website, no need to embed anything.
