I am getting many requests to install Oxwall and I successfully installed 37 out of 41 .

That 4 installations which I failed are ...the requests to install Oxwall on Free hosts (Included one paid hosting ).

Some paid hosting companies also fails to support Oxwall .Recently I happened to install it for G...ld and his Host "Bighost.com" made us worry with components of very old version .Finally the problem has been solved when they installed the latest version of PHP after 4 days. But the server speed is very slow and down frequently .Running a social network on such poor servers may be useless .

So stop wasting your time by choosing poor hosts .

Today I replied to a user for his request on free host .I thought it would be useful to others to read my reply :)

Some free hosts may support Oxwall .

Regarding your Byethost ...Once I contacted their support team if they allow social networking scripts like Oxwall .They said ' No ' .The reason is social networking sites utilize high resources .

I also tried installing the script Oxwall on their server for a user like you.But failed .Some of the requirements are not matched with Byethot's .

Coming to other free hosts....
Recently some of the users like you came with some free hosting accounts . some of them failed as their components are not matching with the requirements .

Do you know ...? Some paid hosting Who offers hosting for less fees also failing to support .A few days ago a user asked me to install Oxwall on Bighost .He purchased from Bighost .It failed to support Oxwall .Later we contacted the host 's support team to install the required contents .They finally installed the latest components after many requests .Then we were able to install .But unfortunately the server speed is slow and it always down .

So I suggest you... to prefer a good hosting company .There are many a hosting companies which help you out with very low prices .If you can pay annually .You can get just for $4.5 per month .If you pay monthly .You get around $5.5

I can suggest some top companies to chose .

Please get back to me with your decision .

It's so stupid that paid hosting can still not provide the latest software, at a reasonable speed.

May I just suggest that heliohost.org is pretty good, is getting some upgrades to make them faster and also interact and work with users with their problems. Yes, it may come down a couple of times, but that is through upgrades. To be honest, I don't actually think that it come's down that often now.

Yes, I admit that there are some faults such as your website may be activated 24/28 hours after registering and there are only 200 registration places per day but it DOES support Oxwall and is suitable for those people who cannot quite pay for their hosting as of yet.

I've used their support systems when I used Oxwall once, but that was almost near the start of their existance like, with some slow stuff on their so Oxwall wasn't good for it back then and there was a lot of downtime with the servers but it's up a real lot and such now. (For examples of Oxwall on this host, I have got Fine-Zone and J-Shaw Projects).

But yes, you do need to watch out for hosts who claim they're the best but in actual fact, suck because of what they cannot do…

I installed on bluehost.com, no trouble, but I'm just starting to invite people, should I move it before it gets very big?

Sorry, re-read the original post and misread "bighost" for "Bluehost", however, if you know anything about bluehost, I would value your input none the less.

justhost.com I haven't had any bother installing on there. it just worked!

Only drawback is their policy, cron jobs can only be run at 15 min intervals to keep server loads down!

I really do not see why paid hosting services cannot give the proper speed. I mean that is part of what they are paid for right. They should be able to deliver decent speed coupled with the latest software. Launching your own social networking site is a really big project and you must have a reliable system and network or people will just be too lazy to even pay your page a visit.

I hear of stories where hosts contact users saying their site has outgrown the plan and they need a virtual server! How can my site outgrow the plan. Unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth. Not happened yet but we will see!

I will add apart from the 15 min cron job runtime restriction justhost.com has been perfect. I have had no issues at all Speed is fine. Support is quite good as well ($20/yr for priority). I can knock out many oxwall sites on this. Doesn't take long at all.
If you DO decide to go with justhost.com then PLEASE use this link and earn me some money!!!

I am busy a bit and away from Oxwall forum for months. Now I came back to this forum and shocked looking at the derailed thread

I wonder , why a Oxwall member posted an affiliate link and it is still there for more than 50 days.

Note to Moderators

@Michael

I don't understand why the people post what ever they think with out any knowledge . I have seen many of your posts just like this , which are far away from reality and seems you are just testing your luck with Random posts . Actually many of the posts you replied doesn't help the OP . I advise you to stay away from the topics which are out of your scope

That 's a simple thing and you need not to be an expert to understand that. There is no fault from the Host's end.

I want to elaborate this for all the users who believe Unlimited thing and blame the hosts for the resources they use for their own

Theoretically, there is no term existed like " Unlimited disk space " . The companies advertise it as ' Unlimited hosting ' only to attract the customers and at the same time they do it with some restrictions.

What are the restrictions ?

They do have restrictions like ...Use not more than '20% ' resources of node

They cannot allow you to use unlimited disk space and cause heavy load on low budget plans for which they( Clients ) spend a few bucks . They don't get HardWare for free and they need money for DC maintenance too. How can you expect them to offer a lot to less price?

Do you know ...even a server with lower spec would costs around $150 itself. Then how can you expect a Unlimited hosting for less fees ($20)or free?

High Resource utilization for Social Networks

Usually Social Networking sites use a lot of bandwidth compared to regular sites . So your Account may use more resources and cause trouble to your fellow customers of the host (Hosts allot a part of resources to you sharing with other customers. So you might trouble your fellow customers with your usage )

So it mean that , the unlimited hosting accounts are just an advantage to get started and that will not harm you until you use it in a proper way. Not every Host provide good service, but some popular hosts which care about the reputation does

well that coz there is no unlimited space... but.. there is unlimited bw... coz hosting is now going from 100GB to 100TB very soon.. atm we have 2TB for bw.. and as not fill up yet... but yes some company's will try to take your money... i know our company tells you what well allow to have and what not to have.... and yet.. alot of clients asks.. if there is unlimited space..... so we just tell them there is no unlimited.... in any hosting... never is never was... iif the company trys to tell you that there is unlimited then they are pulling your chins..

When it comes to software, reliability and quality play a crucial role. Therefore, for me, when ordering desktop application testing, it is important to choose proven specialists with experience in software development with software quality assurance. Effective testing ensures the stability and reliability of the program, allowing you to identify and fix bugs before releasing to products. A responsible approach to testing ensures that your application will run smoothly, which is important for both business projects and everyday use.
