Anas, with the release of 1.7 , all videos added via the newsfeed are added as videos and not just links, meaning when you paste a link system adds this video as though you have added it via "Video" plugin. That is why they can not be played right within the newsfeed.

Changing this back to how it used to work in 1.6 version requires complex changes. In future we are planning to add an option to play videos in newsfeed since we have received quite a lot of requests to bring this feature back.

Unfortunately I can not point you how to modify the source code to play videos as you wish since this, as mentioned above, requires complex changes, which can not be described in a couple of paragraphs.

Have just got news from our dev. team,if all goes well videos will be "playable" in newsfeed in the upcoming 1.7.1 update. Feature has already been added to our dev. packages. Will see how testing goes.

I take it all didn't go well? Updated and still this feature remains unchanged...

Krunch, all went well. Have you updated "Newsfeed" plugin?

Yes I updated the Newsfeed plugin, pasting an embed turns out a thumbnail then when clicked opens a full-page video, doesn't actually play a video right on the site w/In the newsfeed.
