New Members unable to sign up without Automatic suspension | Forum

Upon making sure my registration was open by creating a test account, I realized that new members aren't able to sign up without getting a page that says something to the effect of

"Your account has been suspended please contact administrator"

 

I checked all the permissions and setting related to privacy and security and they are fine.  I haven't changed any user permissions or related settings after the upgrade, so I really can't figure out why this is happening.

Tess, as to the automatic suspension, I believe you ticked Mandatory approve in the Global Privacy section in the Admin Panel and changed the language value, instead of your profile is waiting for approval you put your account is suspended ......


Is it so? Please approve my account on your website, so I could proceed with other issues.

Ok Ross, I unsuspended your account so you should be able to get in now.

No, I haven't done anything to the language that would say anything about suspension, nor have I changed site permissions.


I just double checked regardless and confirmed that the Mandatory approval box isn't checked. The global permissions are set as they always were to anyone can join and guests can't view site.

How did you unsuspend my account? can you provide screenshot?

I don't have any pending new members at present, but I've attached a screen shot of the relevant Admin Area so you can see where I perform the action


I clicked "browse users" from the Users drop down at the top, and then click "suspended" tab.
Then I click the "reactivate account" option that appears by the person's avatar and name.

Once I do that the person can log in normally.
