In brief: First time installer on my own hosting. I downloaded 1.2.6 and followed the install, during which I had a white page and all instruction/forms etc. lined up on the left notepad style. After install all pages were white with no graphics. Links work ok, but no themes.

Logging out, it showed I was logged in, left me unable to log back in. I have deleted all files and reinstalled and re-downloaded the .zip in case I had a corrupt file for some reason. I still have the same result. I'm happy to provide screenshots or even a video if it helps.

i have a similar issue with my local linux server.   Either a host compatibility issue / config or .htaccess error.

Sorry I cant be of any more help.

Does your host meet the requirements?

Server requirements

If you plan to host your site elsewhere make sure your host meets the following hosting requirements:

  • Linux/Unix/Windows
  • Apache 2 or higher (with mod_rewrite module)
  • PHP 5.2.6 or higher with:
    • register_globals off
    • safe_mode off
    • suPHP off
    • suApache off
    • suhosin off
  • PHP modules:
    • PDO
    • DOM
    • mbstring
    • zip
    • zlib
    • ftp
    • json
  • MySQL 5.0 or higher
  • GD Library 2 with FreeType support
  • Mail server (SendMail, Exim or other)
  • Cron

Thank you for a very quick response. Below are a list of requirements my host meets.
Server: Linux
Apache: 2.2.1.9
PHP: 5.2.1.7
MySQL: 5.1.56
Mail Server: SendMail
Cron: Yes
I will check the PHP modules and GD Library with my hosting company. I have successfully installed another social network, but would like to experience Oxwall due to the rave reviews I have read.

Possible a htacces issue too because

http://www.univision.net.au/Oxwall/INSTALL/ow_install/view/style.css is a 404 when it should find it if its there, check that it is in your files/folders.

If so ask if you host allows .htaccess manipulation etc.

It could be .htaccess, a vhost config or config.php issue...

Enabled debug mode and i am seeing errors.  A few permission denied in it.  I will look at this tonight...

Ye i had issue with a trailing slash or not cannot remember now.

Host meets the requirements. Style.css is present in the correct place. No typos in the config.php. Waiting for a response from hosting company as to htaccess manipulation.

It wouldn't be fun if it worked first time! :D

Just for kicks, post your .htaccess contents here. Also is your Oxwall install in the public_html or in a sub directory?

My problem was a space after the slash so the theme was trying to goto
hxxp:// siteurl.com/ ow_themes/.......  The space JUST before the "ow" crippled me!  Took an age (and dev mode on) for me to find it.

Try to view source of you site and lick on one os CSS links. What browser will show you?

Tried to visit my new site, verify the user and password every time when frequent prompts: "Please fill the form properly", not landing, when I register a new user, jump pages are 500 ERR.
