No it does not, because when you share something particular like blog or photo it has it's own URL, in case of newsfeed items, the code does not understand what to share as the newsfeed is located on index page, dashboard or profile page. This requires refactoring of the newsfeed code.
In the meantime this is considered as a custom code modification both of newsfeed and share plugins.
