Strange Java Loading Problems | Forum

JoshWho

All the way from fresh install I notice there is a weird lag in the last bits of java to load when you go to a new page.  alot of times the chat won't work and neither will drop down menus until i click refresh a couple of times then it works again but right after that i go to another page and it does it again. Is there a big error that is stopping the last bit of the java to load? Is this a common issue?

Im not to sure what else to say. It is a fresh install of version 1.7.1   I installed it on 2 separate vps's on centos.

Seems like a core problem.

I searched   Java Not Loading,  Chat Not Loading, errors with 1.7.1, Cache not working for java, .

I'm have alot of knowledge with php and web hosting. I use to make mods and scripts for Php Nuke Back in the day. This is something I'm not detecting with debug mode on.  I have talked to other developers about this and they said ever since this new version rolled out it seems to be common. I figured posting on here where the Oxwall Team is available that some one that knows the deep core to this project could easily say this is whats wrong and this is what u have to do to fix it.

I was just hoping some one that is familiar with this would exactly know what im talking about.

I also purchased about every single plugin from the store and added apc caching to the server along with the oarts Speed Optimizer Plugin Hoping it would solve this issue and it still happens.

I also increased my Php Memory to 500mb  thinking it might have been a low memory issue and that didn't solve it neither.

There's a javascript code conflict. Which is why it breaks and drop down menu does not work. Disable them one by one to see which one causes the conflict. I would start with the one you added recently when the issue started to occur.

but how does that explain it working some times and then sometimes not?  Is the java in the plugins not static?

Also when i inspect element I always see this error on every page even the admin panel

Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CACHE_MISS

Are you seeing net::ERR_CACHE_MISS  in the Chrome console?

See this : https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#newwindow=1&q=net::ERR_CACHE_MISS+

As to the chat not loading enable dev mode and refresh the website to recompile the static and clear the cache , drop down menus do not drop it is caused by some 3rd party javascript code, disable all 3rd party plugins one by one to see which one causes that. get back to us if the issue persists.

You need to contact hosting provider support team if it is 500 internal server error.

What do you have in your URL, when you see blank screen?

is there a cache i can clear in the database?

ross Nov 25 '14
Well, there's a cache for newsfeed items and widget position, but it has nothing to do with the issue.

I'm sorry but you will need to fix this issue on your own in this case, or find a server specialist as it is related to the some server error, not software.

all other websites on server are working correctly it is just oxwall that is messed up.

Josh, are you going to reinstall the software everytime you run into an issue?

It would be better to find the cause of the issue.

Do you see my question? What do you have in URL when you get a blank page?

JoshWho
JoshWho Nov 25 '14
i think the issue is apc but i can't figure out how to clear or flush it

its not that i don't want to learn im just already in a live production and have already 147 users on here and i don't want them to leave because of down time. what ever is the fastest approac im gonna take it but now im going to get the backup plugin for incase when this happens again.

If you think it is fixable I will try your solution but this Oxwall is new to me and im not finding any help for this problem.

Let's do this:

rename .htaccess file which is in the root of the software

go to your site: http://www.buddylist.co if you get page not found that means that there's some misconfiguration and conflict of our htaccess with the setting of mod_rewrite and php

Let's find out this first.
