I was testing this the other day on demo.oxwall.org and it let me use it with everyone who was online.
So, if I was to purchase this for my wall.fm site, would it be the same, or wold you only be able to talk with your friends on your profile only?

Yes, as I know, it would be the same. Admin can set Instant Chat between two modes:
- general
- friends only
In general mode, all online users can chat with each others.
- general
- friends only

One more question. If you have an online friend and they haven't messaged you yet through this. If you pull up this chat with them and send a message, will it notify them on their account automatically?
