Hello,

I was wondering if Oxwall can be installed on a fully managed server that does not have a cPanel installed and still be able to update platform, plugins and themes as well as uninstall plugins and themes?

If so, would would the process be (current Oxwall FTP admin interface, manually, etc)?

Thank you in advance for your reply and assistance.

Yes, it can be installed without Cpanel.

In this case you will need access to the FTP and phpmyadmin.

You will need to upload the unpacked files via FTP and create a database via phpmyadmin.

Then the process the same as in the tutorial: https://docs.oxwall.org/install:manual_installation

Hello,

Thank you for the reply and information, I appreciate it very much.

The fully managed server I am considering has neither cPanel, DirectAdmin or equivalent.

According to the server manager, "There would be no control panel. This is where "completely managed" comes into play. Control panels actually add a layer of complexity and a point of failure that can actually make managing servers more difficult for support staff."

How will I be able to upgrade and/or uninstall plugins and themes using the Oxwall Admin interfaces FTP login if I do not have the requested control panel username and password that the form requires?

Thank you in advance for your reply and assistance.

Read this manual, please: https://docs.oxwall.org/install:update You can do either manually or via admin panel using your FTP access details.
