hi guys. I read a lot topics about his issue and i cant get a good answer out of it.

I made a user on my site called tester.

Mr tester has al is his privacy settings to only friends including the newsfeed item.

When mr tester makes a post in the newsfeed on his own profile it shows up in the main newsfeed. So what does the newsfeed item in the privacy settings does?

post on the profile newsfeed

settings from mr tester

this last screenshot is the newsfeed from a other user. This user still see the things from mr tester.

For Ross, your account (tester22) is activated on my site if you want to check something out..  Mr tester is also there.

Thanks

so if you want the privacy settings to work you have to remove the newsfeed? that will be bad! because i like the option to share with everybody and not only your friends ( if the user want that)

It make no sense to show posts in the main newsfeed when users privacy setting is "friends only".

This is a missing switch in privacy plugin and should be fixed.

Well we consider this as a "bug" this requires complicated refactoring of the newsfeed and takes a lot of time. This will be implemented in the nearest future.
