There is no ability to add another kind of categories now.

What kind of categories do you want to add for example?

Anything other than "Male" and "Female". As it stands is very limited.

What is the relationship of these two categories with the photos.

I agree. Very standard and plain.

It would be very nice if the photos were showing the actual user profile link! What if you liked the person and wanted to contact them - you can't !
