I tried to search for this topic and reviewed the documentation as well as tried to google but no avail:
For the first time a user has now deleted his profile and with it when all his posts and comments. Is there any way that I can recover this or at least prevent it from happening again? The user opened some threads and commented on various posts and with the deletion of his profile of of that is gone. This is very annoying for all other users, who took part in the discussions and are now missing parts of the thread or whole threads started by the user originally.
So my question is: can I keep the comments in Forum and somewhere else OR can i prevent a user from deleting his account, so that it is set inactive or something alike?

In your case the removing of the Delete Profile button this is the easiest way not to allow users delete their profiles.
The removing of this button has already been discussed:
