Bug in Chat/ Message plugin | Forum

Hi everybody,

Now it has startet to be to damn annoying and I therefore hope that there´s someone in her that can help me...

Using the chat/ messaging-function that comes with this system.....

When I cross the picture of the person in the chat-box with the mouse, it brings up a box with information about this person... and unless I bring the mouse back in the opposite direction, it continues to be there...

How do I fix this issue??

Hi, Kim

Thank you for paying attention to this issue. It is well-known tooltip's issue. Our developers are trying to fix it but this problem occurs randomly and we can not consistently reproduce it to test well. This issue connected to the browser's specificity and how the browser determines this tooltip decoration.
If you may provide us with the list of exact steps we should follow to reproduce the issue, this will really help us to fix it.

Hi Taissa,

1. Open website
2. Open message/ chat function in lower right corner

3. Select a person to chat with

4. Drag your mousepointer across the picture of the person in the chatwindow and then the small infobox will appear.

5. Drag your mousepointer across the picture again in the opposite direction (NOT THE SAME) to remove the infobox.

If you dont drag the mousepointer across the picture, the infobox will stay even if I close the chatwindow.
And will only go away if I open the chatwindow with the same person and do step 5, or if I reload the page.

It´s really annoying and me users hate it.

Kim, I've tried to reproduce this steps on our Demo and have no success.
So, the steps:

1. Open Demo : http://demo.oxwall.org/
2. Choose User login to Sign in
3. Go to the Members page > Online and click "Chat now" label.
4. Make the actions with the mousepointer. I've got no issue with the tooltip.

Please, check whether there is an issue when you try to reproduce your action set on the Demo.
If there is no issue on the Demo then try to disable all your third-party plugins and check if the issue persists on your site.

I have tried from Chrome and Safari browsers...
And on normal pc + macbook.

Hi Tammy - But Oxwall dont have the Hint plugin installed on the demo site.... And the 2 pictures above is from the demosite.

The box for message/ chat It says "Chat" If one wanted to change that to IM or something other than Chat

Can it be done? and how could I find where to change it?

I did it along time ago, but don't remember how I did it

Hi,

You can easily do it - you should find the label "Chat" in languages section and rename it as you wish. Go to the Admin Area> Settings > Languages section and find {text key='mailbox+chat'}.
