Is there a plug in or add on that I need to install to add the ability to add friends? I can't seem to find the option.

friends plugin is already part of the core install the option to add a friend should be on the drop down menu. which template are you using?

Thank you Dave for the welcome.
Right now I am using "Ethos" as the template. I haven't really seen anything else that I like much. I am having some troubles customizing the template - but I think most of that is going to come with time. And I don't much like to work on the live server. I just haven't been able to get the software running on my local MAMP install.

Yes i saw your other post.. I personally know nothing of MAMP or WAMP or any other ?AMP that might exist. I do know that it can be tricky at times just from reading some of the other posts here. But i know youll get it!
A few things you might need to know since your new.
Team members are typically not in the US like me and you. So youll have to look for them around 10pm mountain time which is about midnight your time i believe. So when you post just expect that it will be after that time before you get a reply. And they are not here on weekends.
Also its always helpful if you can share a screen shot, esp when talking about a theme.
Since your running on MAMP please remind us of that as you need special instructions at time.
And most important enjoy the journey, Oxwall is pretty darn cool and im sure you will enjoy it. Like most things it has its strong points and its not so strong points. But it is very customizable and fun to work with.

For the Origin default theme the "Add to Friends" button is located at user's profile page. If you use the custom theme, it better contact the theme developer and ask about this button.
And also as far as I know you can find some plugins which are connected with the friends functionality in our Store.

No - I have not found the solution. I attempted some different themes but the option never appears.
I don't really want to open up the website for beta testing until the option appears. thanks
