Like button does not work on 1.7.3[Solved] | Forum

Hi,

after update to 1.7.3 the like button on News feed post stops working.

In network debugging I see the HTTP request going to URL:
/newsfeed/ajax/like/?entityType=event&entityId=94
which redirects to not found oxwall page (and probably here is the problem).

The theme is Macabre

Any ideas?

and you got that from the js console or from firebug?

Also is the like button from FB that you embeded or is it a plugin?

Dave, this is from firebug network log.

No Fb has nothing about that.  It is a newsfeed basic feature

This is new in 1.7.3. So believe it to be kind of bug.

Does it work in your 1.7.3 installation?

Ross, is there any progress regarding this? Maybe I should downgrade to 1.7.2. somehow is the fix is not planned very soon. As "like" are pretty important in our case.

I've found the problem.- some of ow_static files were not accessible for apache. So js files were outdated and cannot be purged.

After I set all read-write persmissions problem is solved.

Actually this is a common problem, so if there could be some indicator or notification about incorrect permissions during install or any other time, this could solve many problems in my case.

Dave thanks, I understand that.

My idea is to make a diagnostic tool to CHECK if permissions are wrong. As sometimes you don't even know that the problem exists, as no errors are thrown.

Oh ok yes i have seen some scripts have that but only so much you can do with that, but that would be something good for a uservoice suggestion :)

Ilija I though you were talking about the mobile newsfeed like issue which we have passed to the developers.

As to your suggestion, you can create a post on uservoice here: http://oxwall.uservoice.com/forums/13756-ideas-for-oxwall

If it gets many voices, we'll consider implementing it.
