Verificication and general email | Forum

I have searched the forum and read through the posts displayed about this subject, I have tried renaming from Verification to Verify, changed to SSL, NONE SSL and back again and more.

I used to use Oxwall before on another domain years back, I thought I would use it again, it has certainly improved but this email thing is annoying. My settings are defo correct, the test thing works, says it does anyway.

This install was from a Softalicious one so was straightforward and probably error free, not that I have not installed it before from scratch anyway.

Website is http://paycoin.social

Please help me get this sorted.

Thanks for your time,

Colin.

Hello Ross,

Thanks for the reply. The site is not sending verification email for new users and also I tried to send a site wide email and that did not come through either.

I can send login details in PM if you would like to look into it?

With regards,

Colin.

No need to PM me any details,

The verification e-mail is sent directly to the mail server, which means there's some problem on their side.

The mass mail is sent by cron. You need to make sure cron jobs are properly configured.

Check these links: http://www.oxwall.org/forum/5/search?&q=cron%20issue

Newsfeed has nothing to do with the cron.

Colin, if the command is there that does not mean the cron is working.

Go to your phpmyadmin, ow_base_mail table

Then go to your website and send mass mail

Go back to ow_base_mail and check if the mails you sent appear in the table and then disappear (go out from the table)

Do you receive e-mail notifications on the site activity by the way?

The mails show in ow_base_mail table but just sit there, I set the site mail to mail@paycoin.social but it shows admin@paycoin.social in tables. I made a test user and on the 'Please confirm you email address' page after registration is says to add mail@paycoin.social to address book. I have made a mail and admin account in email  on server but still no mails. In answer to your question I do not receive email notifications on site activity.

It has suddenly started working now - maybe the email was being weird, mail came from admin account as it should have.. Thanks for your help on this.

I hope to promote the Oxwall platform due to the Paycoin digital currency.

Thanks again,

Colin.

Colin, try to send mass mail again and make sure it leaves the table. Just to be 100% sure it is working.

Also try to register fake profile with real e-mail to check whether you get verification e-mail.
