Update to 1.7.3 | Forum

Peter May 18 '15

After downloading the ow_core-update_pac  1.7.3 and overwriting the old files,  the upgrade worked.. Until i updated the catalog. i have to admit i "renamed" the word catalog, to a more suitable name in the languages translations. But after the update

The installed catalog was not longer available. I checked the database.. GONE !

The  "renamed word catalog" was back as catalog ! but clicking on it..

file not found !!!

I tried filling The empty catalog with something new, and it all seemed to work.

I did not log out, but when i did, I got the e500.php redirect.

I checked a forum and in the .htaccess file i deleted the line

RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !/e500\.php

The communtity was back online  working,  but no old catalog !!!

I was very happy i made a complete backup of the domain so i could restore oxwall...

More then 5 hours work for nothing....

There should be a more easy way to update without all these troubles..

I have no idea what to do..  i feel stupid, and maybe it is better not thinking about updating at all, and leave the things as they are.....

What do you mean by catalog?

Where was it missing?

Can you please shed some more light on the issue?

Good morning,
The catalog is a oxwall plugin http://www.oxwall.org/store/item/650

I installed oxwall the first time with installatron, a few months ago.
bought the plugins cms for oxwall, jobs, file uploads, search pro, bulk user registration, New user alert, mobile for oxwall and last thing was the catalog.
I had some probs with the mobile version, it was not showing the user names, on the most activities.
When the new update was online i could not use it, because the catalog still needed the old oxwall version.
When i noticed the catalog had an update, i tried updating, but updating the plugins the message came, plugin not found.
I restored a backup, and found ow_core-update_pac  ..
All was ok untill i updated the catalog.

we use the catalog, for Job Reports, ( we are a charity organisation, we trap, neuter and return wild cats in spain) as i could not find another way to add forms, that would show as a database...  for example

So the word Catalog, i changed in the translation/language files to TNR-JOBS.
Also the admin part.
After the update, the translations i made, most into spanish, disappeared.
The word TNR-JOBS became Catalog again, and resulted in broken links.

I opened the settings of the catalog...  No catalog found..
I checked in the database (phpmyadmin)  nothing there..

Only the new catalog (a test version that came with the update i suppose ).
I went back into the admin and made a new catalog,  It worked.
But the button catalog still pointed to page not found.

I deleted the catalog plugin, and re installed the catalog, fresh downloaded from the store.
Now the button catalog worked..... and showed (the test version catalog).

I logged out and tried to login as user...
No way....   I got the e500.php redirect  blank page
etc etc..

Thanks

Hello I'm very sorry about the troubles you've got. One of the previous version of catalog plugin, had a bug in update script, that could cause error500 in some situations. Its now fixed, and latest version should be safe to update.

If you still have issues with plugin or need help updating site, please contact me on plugin forum or via private message
