when you have your site running for long time none ssl
and change site to full ssl

it then try change the whole database to https and maxed out connection
that send cpu through the roof
i have 2 sites one use heaps cpu and memory try change everything to ssl

but as the cpu is high both site throw enternal server error

but other scripts on both domains still open
but time from 3 seconds to 20 seconds to open due to the high cpu and memory usage

i can understand the site use so much cpu and smashing the database throw error
but the other site should run  but run slow

i have been trying to chase this problem for over a month now
on the high cpu and memory and db max connections, cron use lots memory and cpu

i have just found i have been waste so much of my time trying deactivate plugins etc
as deactivated plugins still use cron and still insert stuff into db
and i have 130 plugins in my deactivated plugin list

if a plugin is deactivated it should do nothing just site there and only show if it has an update so you can try it and see if its working or not
as if its in the deactivated list its there because it dont work

so i now have to put deactivated plugins into uninstalled plugins list
and now i will not know if a plugin has been updated

I wish I knew what I could say Tammy, I have a test site that is loaded ONLY with the default plugins, I am the ONLY member and I might play with the Css once per week, ,,, rarely am I signed in, Crons is set per 30mins and always at cPanel the same message as follows:

Your site has been limited within the past 24 hours.
CPU resources were limited for your site.

Is-int that nice???

my cron on run uses so much memory
Resource: Virtual Memory

Size Exceeded: 1807(MB)

at the last update my dedicated server just giv up and said i can do it lol and crashed sql was getting so smashed its crashed it and no matter how high i raise the sql limits oxwall eats it up

mabe thers a problem with it not close connections i have it sort of under control give sql extra 1 gn ram helped

restart sql server and my site speed is amusingly fast then open few site pages and few ppl login the connections just keeps climb untill it gets maxed out and then with no one logged in the site you would think the connections would drop but thats all a bit over my head n i dont have clue if the connections should drop
