My developer and I have been trying to add a YouTube video (which explains the features of the site) to the join page with no luck. He's been trying to edit the files, while I tried adding the embed code from YouTube to a plugin which modifies the join and login pages to resemble Facebook's.

Obviously both haven't worked, or I wouldn't be posting this. Can you point us in the right direction so we can do this?
