Plugin Suggestion [Answered] | Forum

So I'm looking for a plugin that will make Groups more powerful. What I want most is maybe a way to add some sort of forum to the groups, so they can have their own. I want to expand it beyond just the newsfeed function that it comes with.

I already have forumpro and wysiwig editor. I'm really open to anything that will allow group members to make posts in some way. Even a wiki or FAQ type thing would work. Looking at those types of plugins tho, I'm not sure if there is a way to incorporate them into groups.

Honestly, if I could incorporate forumpro into the groups plugin that would be perfect. Anything available that matches, at least in part, what I'm looking for?

Anyone know if I purchased the CMS or Extended pages plugin if I could create that functionality in the groups plugin myself? Unfortunately I just don't know much about coding PHP to do it myself.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

Kyle, have you seen this plugin: http://www.oxwall.org/store/item/544#?
In case this plugin doesn't meet your needs, the best way is to find a third-party developer at http://www.oxwall.org/market/specialists to develop your own plugin.
Concerning the CMS or Extended pages plugins, as far as I know they will not help you, but it would be better to contact plugin developer and ask him about this possibility.

Hi Kyle,

Default forum plugin, with default groups plugin work together 'out of the box' - So you can have a forum, for each group. Automatically.

goto http://youroxwall.com/admin/plugins/groups/additional

and check the box.

AFAIK - I think you can run forum pro and default forum together on oxwall. But I make no promises. (it worked when I played with it). Ask Aaron for more details.

Matt, thank you for your help and this important additional information. I completely forgot to mention this option in my answer.

Thanks for your responses everyone! I def appreciate the help. I'm gonna tinker around with it some more. I've been able to activate both forum plugins at the same time, it's just a matter of getting the standard forum plugin to not show up in the main menu and confuse my members about which "forum" to choose lol.

However, your suggestions have got me headed in the direction I want to be going, so thank you! At work I manage Linux servers so website languages are a little out of the box for me, learning as I go here.

Im new with all this so forgive me, Im trying to learn...I installed forum pro, leaving my oxwall forum installed. I migrated the info to the forumpro, double checked any errors in transferring. I noticed some features missing like my attchments not showing up in the new forum or on the main page you cant change how many post to show. Between Groups and the oxwall forum plugins you can have the 2 link together, that option isnt in Forumpro. Is there a plugin or 2 that i have to reinstall again or do i not uninstall oxwalls forum plugin.  I have sent a message to Aron with no reply yet.  Can anyone teach this old dog a new trick Please I need Help!
