I imagine he is asking about ajax refresh for news feed and other objects. I to have been wondering why that hasn't been added yet.

There were a lot of attempts to achieve something like that in past. I am aware about such modifications for newsfeed: https://www.google.com/...&channel=ipad_bm

I think that this idea was not implemented due to amount of server resources such functionlity might consume. A lot of Oxwall users are on shared hosting plans that are very strict. If your read through forum you will notice a lot of reports that users can't upload videos or photos because their servers are blocking Ajax requests ( mod_security) . Imagine having Ajax auto refresh if even ajax photo upload is getting blocked on server side

I wouldn't hold that feature back just because people use shared hosting. Maybe it would motivate people to use a dedicated or vps.  It is needed. Oxwall has to move forward some time.
