[Solved] WEBSITE ENTERS MAINTENANCE MODE AFTER 1.8 platform update | Forum

Hi need help i followed the advised process of updating my site to the newly released I.8 platform  and my site automatically entered the maintenance mode i have tried to rectify this  with no result can some one help me please

1.  Just did as instructed ,it gave me access to admin area.but  still show platform update request and when i click it doesn't respond all areas on the admin are not working.eg dashboard,users,settings,privacy & permission,appearance,plugins,pages &menus etc

2.  member area still show site under maintanance

PRINCEWILL DICKSON, please confirm you performed the update in the following order:

1. deactivate all third-party plugins.
2. turn on 'Maintenance mode" in Admin Panel >Pages&Menus > Maintenance Page
3. enable DEBUG mode ( set to "true" in ow_includes/config.php)
4. perform platform update.
5. update all native Oxwall plugins. Don't check your site until you update all of them
6. update your theme.
7. enable DEV mod in ow_includes/config.php
8. Turn "Maintenance Mode" off.
9. refresh any site page and disable DEV MODE: define('OW_DEV_MODE', false);

If you skipped some steps, this can cause the update errors.
First of all enable DEBUG mode ( set to "true" in ow_includes/config.php), then refresh your site and if you see the errors, copy them here, so we could assist you.

Hi Taisha got your response really i did not follow 100 % all the steps as you listed  any help from your end will be highly appreciated

The fact that your site went to maintenance mode means that platform update did not go successfully.

First thing I would have checked is version of your platform. Open ow_version.xml file. Which version you have there?

Secondly check your error logs ( one in /ow_logs/error.log)  and your server's apache error log ( ask you host where you can find it).

Within your error logs try to locate ones that have a date when you performed an update. What are your error messages?

PRINCEWILL DICKSON, did you make a backup of your site files and database before doing  update? If you did, then you can just restore your site back to the way it was. If you didn't, then follow the steps Oxwall Tips has provided.

Check out the Sephora website. Select "Check Gift Card Balance" from the menu. You must enter both your 8-Digit PIN and the 16-Digit gift card number in the space provided.
