Is it possible to change the icons because they don't really make any sense for the pages they correspond with?

yes you can change the icons by following images folder . you need to replace with same name for png icons .

So I went into my file manager oxwall/themes/wrike/images/ and I don't see the images for the icons on the left side of the page. Sorry to bother you

i mean you want to change plus icon ? that not a icon - it a font named font awesome .  and box cap icons are disabled for this theme .

this are font awesome text icons you only have to choose icon from font awesome family . this are not png not svg icon just a text so check the available icons are here " http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icons/ "   we will tell you how to change the icon among ( http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icons/ )  font awesome family .  

for now you can't upload icons from outside except ( http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/icons/ )

update the theme to latest version first . see what awesome things added and we will give you the codes by today .
