can anybody please show me how your salt code should look after you have added it to the file, because I have added mine and I am getting emails from the cron job, but saying no file specified but I have uploaded my back up archive?

Salt is not related to the Cron functionality. How did you set up your Cron command? Did you follow the manual instructions?
