Thanks Rebecca, Thought about that "work Around" giving the Free as default with minimal or no access and then setting each user to a specific role.  However, seems like a "work around" and would like to simply change the default registration for specific user's role rather than having to change every user's role.  Maybe I'm wrong, but seems that initial role is carved in stone.  Using the "work around" unless you set the default with no access, then adding an additional role gives all of the default access and maybe some additional access that is for specific role - would like to assign access to a specific page and nothing else without having having to assign every user a specific role.  Probably "pie in the sky" but only can hope.
