Greetings, Oxwall users.  I'm attempting to update to v1.8 but I'm getting an error message that the ftp account I provided has invalid permissions, presumably to overwrite files.  FYI, I'm running on Linux VPS, not hosted Oxwall.

What are the minimum permissions (for security) that I need to give the ftp account in order for the update process to work?

You might need to install vsftpd if you don't have it on your Linux VPS. SFTP comes standard, but FTP is inherently insecure so it needs to be installed and configured. I'd recommend not doing so and simply using SFTP or SSH to do your updates.
