This solved it for me, had to re-upload some custom directories and re-install plugins and theme. Thanks :)

as soon as I extracted update pack I got 500 internal server error.

your .htaccess file is renamed to htaccess.txt and it does not allow me to rename it.

contact your hosting provider to resolve 500 internal server error first. then we'll proceed
