Thanks Tammy, yeah, can get into the admin, deactivated newsfeed, site restored, then I activated newsfeed again, and site seems fine now. How very strange.

Jobee, activate the newsfeed back,
go to your database-> to ow_newsfeed_action_set table and truncate it, it should fix the issue.
ow_newsfeed_action_set - is a caching table. By truncating this table you wont lose any data on your site.

Hi Ross,
I'm not sure how to truncate it. When I go to the db, there is no selection to truncate.
Using phpMyAdmin, can you tell me how to truncate the table please?
Edit/update: After a little research, I'm thinking that I just empty the table?
